Ian is Clinical Audit Facilitator for St Vincent’s Healthcare Group. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He trained as an orthopaedic surgeon prior to completing an MBA in Healthcare Management in the Royal College of Surgeons and the Smurfit Business School. Since then he has worked in many areas of health administration in Beaumont Hospital before moving to his current post. He has written and presented on the topics of patient safety, quality of service and the involvement of clinicians in management. His interests include the democratisation of medical knowledge and the refinement of systems for embedding quality and safety in Irish healthcare.
