Why Take Part?
Improving our health care service
The questions asked highlight any areas where problems occurred and identify what needs to be done to improve care.
Similarly, identifying where patients receive good quality care plays an important role in improving services. By highlighting these areas and identifying what is being done well, hospitals can learn from one another to make improvements to care.
Each participating hospital receives a copy of their results. These can be used to benchmark against the national average and will provide an evidence base for planning and implementing quality improvement initiatives undertaken by the hospital. Most hospitals are willing to sharing their results with patient groups and some provide a copy of the results on their website for the public to view. The ISQSH welcome and commend this choice by participating hospitals. This can assist in the level of improvements at a local level.
